Fakes

David Shields and Matthew Vollmer have pulled together a new anthology of forty short fictions, pretending to be something other than they are. Pseudo interviews, faux lectures, and quasi letters. There's work from Lydia Davis, Rick Moody, Amy Hempel and a piece from me. Mine is a love letter, Dear Stephen Hawking. And, if I speak truthfully, it's not really a fake. I do love Stephen Hawking.

I'll be doing a reading from Fakes on October 25 at Powerhouse Books in Brooklyn.
